RYA Powerboat Level 2

Course Description
This two-day entry-level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It focuses on low-speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course is 85% practical and taught on a 6.5 RIB with 3 person maximum per course

COURSE CONTENT
Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard
Ability after the course: Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of craft.
The RYA Power Boat level II course is the most suitable qualification for those who want to drive yacht tenders, ribs and speed boats. For those who want to work on a yacht it will increase your chances of securing yacht work if you have obtained the RYA Power Boat level II certificate. The RYA Powerboat Level II course is a great starting point to powerboating and gives you a chance to learn about boat handling, crew rope work, close-quarters handling, high-speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations along with basic navigation, passage planning, pilotage and weather.
85% of the RYA Power Boat level II course is practical and hands-on giving you as much practical experience as possible, with 15% classroom orientated over a two day period.
